Dear Washington State Social Studies Teachers,

On a first-come, first-served basis, Densho is providing a free CD-ROM

Classroom Based Assessment (CBA) models. The titles and short descriptions
of the classroom units are below.

Constitutional Issues: Civil Liberties, Individuals, and the Common Good

rights of individuals with the common good?"

Dig Deep: Media and the Incarceration of Japanese Americans during World War
II

High School History - 3 weeks

Analyzes media and the incarceration of Japanese Americans during World War
II.

Checks and Balances: Japanese American Incarceration

Middle School - 3 days

Examines decisions the three branches of government made relating to the
mass removal and incarceration of Japanese Americans during World War II.

You Decide: Were Japanese Americans a Threat?

Elementary School - 3 days

national governments must face in a democracy.

The units on Constitutional Issues and Dig Deep utilize oral histories,
historical photographs and period newspapers from Densho's rich archive.
These primary sources are included on the CD-ROM.

You may request this teacher resource CD-ROM by sending email to
