Hello Friends and Colleagues:
Global Source Education is pleased to present another one of our CBA
workshops:
Approaching the Social Studies CBAs:
An Orientation for K-12 Educators
Saturday, November 17, 9:30-4pm
Seattle (Location to be announced)
Following the belief that teachers must and should be the primary driving
force behind school change and reform, Global Source has become involved
with the WA State Social Studies Classroom-Based Assessments (CBAs). This
workshop is designed as an orientation for those who are new to the CBAs or
just starting to experiment with them in their schools. You will learn
about the anatomy of a CBA, and explore strategies for adapting and
integrating them within your curriculum. We will identify the discretion
and constraints involved with the CBAs and examine how CBA units of study
can be opportunities to model best practices in social studies education.
In addition, this expanded workshop will offer participants the time to
frame and shape their own CBA unit of study.
Learn how to make the CBAs work for you and your curriculum. Learn how the
CBAs can be a meaningful force for promoting meaningful professional
dialogue, building learning communities, and fostering positive school
change in social studies education.
* Tuition is $65
* 5 clock hours will be available.
* Space is limited to 30.
