The Washington State Holocaust Education Resource Center is offering two
incredible opportunities for teachers interested in teaching about the
Holocaust:

 <http://www.wsherc.org/PDF/ADL&WSHERC_Nov20.pdf> Teacher Workshop: Echoes
and Reflections
November 20, 2008. 4:00pm - 8:00pm. Puget Sound Educational Service District
(PSESD), 800 Oakdale Ave. SW, Renton
$20. Clock hours available. Light dinner provided.
How can we empower students to speak out against prejudice, discrimination,
intolerance, and genocide in a contemporary world? Echoes and Reflections,
an extraordinary multi-disciplinary curriculum on the Holocaust, provides an
important context for students to explore these issues. Experience a
hands-on demonstration of lessons. This short workshop will also feature
local resources, including stories of survivors in Washington State.
Participants will receive a complimentary copy of "Echoes and Reflections"
(a $95 value), and a DVD of over 50 video testimonies. While designed for
high school classes, the curriculum can be adapted for middle school
students, and can be taught by educators new to this field of study, or by
those who are experienced. Sponsored by the Anti-Defamation League and the
Holocaust Center.
