Workshop -  Rescuers and the Rescued

Suzzallo-Allen Library, UW, Seattle
$20. Clock hours available. Light dinner provided.  Pre-registration
required.

 

Workshop is offered in conjunction with the exhibit  "Polish Heroes:  Those
Who Rescued Jews" on display at Suzzallo Library, UW, Seattle, Jan. 12 -
Feb. 13, 2009.

 

The stories and actions of those who risked their lives to help Jewish
people are extraordinary.  Half of 1% of the population under Nazi
occupation helped to rescue Jewish people during the Holocaust.  

Following an overview of rescue during the Holocaust, a panel of local
master teachers, trained and experienced in Holocaust education, will share
their best lessons and practices. Workshop will also include a tour of the
exhibit.

"Polish Heroes: Those Who Rescued Jews," a photography exhibit by Chris
Schwarz, honors Polish individuals in Krakow, Poland who risked their lives
and rescued Jews.
