Civics Education Forum at State Capitol:

Where Are We Now and Where Are We Going?

Leaders in government, education and the media across the nation are calling for more Civics education. Survey after survey shows that Americans know more about popular culture than about their rights as citizens and the operation of our democracy. However, administrators and teachers are finding that improving Civics education in our state's schools is challenging, as they encounter obstacles such as competing priorities and lack of funding. Join us on Law Day, May 1st, for an afternoon of presentations and discussions examining the state of Civics education in Washington.
