IMPORTANT TEACHER-TRAINING & AWARD NEWS:
2010 STUDY CANADA Summer Institute for K-12 Educators:
Experience BC from the 5 Themes of Geography to the 2010 Olympics
Vancouver and Whistler, BC - June 20-25, 2010 ($500 Registration Cost
Multiple Awards Available)
"STUDY CANADA" is a 3 quarter credit/40 clock hour professional development
course offered by Western Washington University that provides teachers with
an excellent foundation for teaching about our northern neighbor. For the
past thirty-two years, teachers from across the country have attended this
renowned program to develop a better understanding of Canada, gain global
perspectives of civic issues, and receive numerous resources for curriculum
development. The course explores legacies from the Vancouver 2010 Winter
Olympics and offers cultural learning experiences that are simply not
available through regular tourism. The registration cost includes
tuition/clock hours, instruction, 5 nights premier hotel accommodation, 5
breakfasts, course activities and round trip transportation between
Vancouver and Whistler, BC. In 2011, the program will move to the nation's
capital, Ottawa, so this is a last chance to study Canada so close to home!
