Call for Proposals: Fall 2025 Conference

The Washington State Council for the Social Studies (WSCSS) is excited to announce the opening of the call for proposals for our 2025 Fall Conference. This year's theme, "Many Threads, One Flag: 250 Years of Diverse American Voices "invites us to consider the many stories that make up the history of Washington and the United States as we begin the celebration of the 250th Anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

We encourage you to submit proposals for sessions that:

  • Integrate Multiple Disciplines: Combine elements of Civics, Economics, Geography, History, Art, Science, and Literacy into cohesive and engaging lessons.

  • Promote Inquiry-Based Learning: Foster student curiosity and critical thinking through hands-on activities, research projects, and problem-solving exercises.

  • Highlight Stories that lift up the diversity and positive contributions of individuals and communities across our state and nation: Delve into the historical and contemporary significance of specific topics, examining both the enduring patterns and transformative shifts.

  • Empower Students: Equip learners with the knowledge and skills to understand complex issues, make informed decisions, and become active citizens.
