The Washington State Council for the Social Studies (WSCSS) invites you to join us for the 2025 Fall Conference at Chinook Middle School in Bellevue. This year’s theme, "Many Threads, One Flag: 250 Years of Diverse American Voices," offers an exciting opportunity for educators to learn from the diverse communities that make up Washington State within the disciplines of Civics, Economics, Geography, History, Art, Science, and Literacy.

EVENT HIGHLIGHTS

Keynote Speaker:
Join us for an inspiring keynote by The Honorable G. Helen Whitener, Justice of the Washington State Supreme Court, who will discuss her own story and how diverse voices have strengthened the fabric of Washington State and the United States throughout our history.

Dynamic Sessions:
Participate in engaging sessions designed to:

  • Equip educators with tools to teach integrated and inquiry-based lessons.

  • Encourage students to critically analyze patterns of change and continuity in our world.

  • Support professional growth in Civics, Economics, Geography, History, Art, Science, and Literacy

Enjoy Breakfast & Lunch at the conference:
Registration includes a light breakfast starting at 8:20 AM (conference begins at 8:50 AM) and a catered boxed lunch (vegetarian and gluten-free options available). Please note that registration will informally close on October 4th, to ensure we can accommodate everyone, we encourage you to register before this date. We need to submit the order numbers to the caterer and we cannot add orders after that date. If you register after October 4th, you will need to bring your own lunch. 

Clock Hours:
Attendees can earn 6 free clock hours through participation.

Free Parking:
Enjoy the convenience of complimentary parking at the venue. There is ample parking at Chinook Middle School. Follow the signs to the unlocked entrance.

Accommodations: 
For Out-of-Town Guests:
The Hotel Murano in Bellevue is offering the government rate for the conference weekend. No room block has been reserved, so please make your reservations directly with the hotel. The Hotel Murano is conveniently located near the conference. When making your reservation, please inform the hotel that you are attending the WSCSS Conference at Chinook Middle School to ensure you receive the government rate.

Exhibitors: If your business or organization would like to be considered for an exhibitor space at our conference, we invite you to fill out our application form by using this link (ADD LINK WHEN CONFIRMED). 

Advertisers: If your business or organization is interested in advertising at the conference, we invite you to submit your information online using this link (ADD LINK WHEN CONFIRMED. 

Note: If you are a school secretary who registered attendees or registered attendees other than yourself, please kindly forward this message to people that you registered for the conference. Our system only recorded the email that was used to register attendees.
